“Are you working?”
I look toward my friend. His laugh is hidden by the mask but it glints in his eyes. He waves his hand toward me, stopping the answer on my lips. “Don’t answer that. I know you’re not working. The schools are closed!”
I frown. Something isn’t right about that.
It’s true. The schools are closed. I haven’t graded a paper in months.
But am I working?
I cock my head, wishing my smirk could be visible behind the thick fabric. “Well, actually, I am working.”
My friend frowns. “Really? You’re sending homework or-”
“No.” I shake my head. “I’m not talking about the school. That’s closed. But I’ve never stopped being a missionary.”
Have you stopped working?
Maybe you’ve transitioned to working or studying at home. Maybe you’re busier than ever or maybe you’ve even lost your job.
But have you thought about your work for the kingdom?
Just because our daily routines have been interrupted and just because some of us are not “working”. Our mission has not changed.
Keep working, soldier. Press on to expand the Kingdom by being a reflection of Christ’s love.
